Hi, I’m Jen Davis, the founder of Purelens Photography. I’m a Cape Town–based photographer with a love for weddings and lifestyle photography. For me, photography is about more than just images—it’s about capturing those real, unguarded moments that tell your story: the laughter, the quiet glances, the connections that make every wedding and lifestyle shoot so unique. Alongside this, I also enjoy photographing wildlife, landscapes, events, and corporate projects, which keeps my creative journey wonderfully diverse.
I was born in Scotland, grew up in Johannesburg, and spent much of my adult life in the Lowveld near Kruger National Park before settling in the Cape. With a mix of city buzz and wild open spaces shaping me, I’ve always been a creative entrepreneur at heart—someone who loves building, experimenting, and blending ideas across different artistic fields. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people, helping them feel relaxed and confident in front of the camera. Seeing a couple or family laugh naturally, or capturing those small, intimate moments, is what makes my work truly rewarding.
Alongside photography, I also work in web design and brand building. This allows me to help clients not just with beautiful imagery, but with the bigger picture—creating a strong visual identity that carries through from their photos to their online presence. Whether it’s brainstorming creative concepts, assisting with styling, or guiding clients through the shoot, I’m fully hands-on and love making the whole experience enjoyable and memorable.

Cameron is my second shooter and assistant here at Purelens Photography. By profession, he’s an engineer, but photography has been a creative passion of his for years. He’s been part of Purelens since 2021, bringing not only technical precision but also something even more valuable—his ability to connect with people.
Cameron has a natural warmth that puts everyone at ease, whether it’s a bride and groom, a nervous guest, or a group of colleagues at a corporate shoot. He has a way of getting people to relax, laugh, and feel completely comfortable in front of the camera—which means the smiles and moments we capture are always real. Couples and families often comment on how much they enjoyed having him around, and how effortless the experience felt with him behind the lens.
At weddings and events, Cameron is brilliant at capturing those in-between, candid moments that tell the story just as much as the big ones. He also assists with lighting and keeps the day flowing smoothly with a calm, positive energy. Behind the scenes, he helps with editing and design, making sure albums and photo books are polished and meaningful.
Balancing his engineering career with photography, Cameron loves being able to combine the best of both worlds: problem-solving and innovation in the energy sector, and creativity, connection, and storytelling with Purelens. His blend of technical skill, artistic eye, and people-first approach makes him an irreplaceable part of the team—and a joy to have at any shoot.
